I used to think that I wasn't really a Stone collector, but as more and more Stones appeared on my shelves, I came to realize that I was deluding myself. I am now officially hooked. As you can see, I like the glossy ones.
This is Earendil, the pride of my Stone collection. He is an exquisite test run painted by Sarah Mink in 2001 and auctioned off at Equilocity 2002 as "Fivel."
The Arab in glossy chestnut as a portrait of the famous stallion *Muscat, a great favorite of mine. This was a run of 70 pieces in fall 2008.
This elegant mare is Shakana Glory, the 2004 SR for the Stone County Fair.
This is Newsprint, the January 2001 Equilith SR. He was limited to 300 pieces and came with a red tasseled halter.
This is White Madras, a bloody shoulder Arab produced as a regular run in 2002. Mine was hand-picked for his dark shaded face, knees, and hocks, as well as his bright blood-marking. All the other models I looked at had hazy white paint misted over the marking, so I think my model is a variation.
Apparently, I have a thing for grey Arabs. This is a OOAK Arab with a straightened head and loose tail in glossy fleabitten grey. I ordered him during the 2009 You Call It Custom Order sale.
This is the 2007 Blab SR glossy "Honey" made for the Blab mods. She is one of about 25 glossy models.
This is Dirty Sally, a 2007 SR of 170 pieces designed and painted by Ed Gonzalez. This is the factory custom version, not the extreme factory custom version.
This is a test run ISH in glossy dapple grey painted by Karen Gerhardt.
This is Answered Prayer, a SR glossy red dun ISH. Only 30 pieces were produced in 2007.
This is one of only two glossy Houdini models. His mane and tail are slightly different than the matte special run.
This pretty ISH is a OOAK factory custom by Wendy Galbreath done in 2010. I love his swishy tail!
This is Eight Hundred Fifty Four, a OOAK Stone ISH (who will geta better name at some point). He is a glossy dappled bay sabino with blue eyes produced in 2010.
This is One Thousand One Hundred and One, a wildly patterned dark chestnut tovero trotting drafter produced in fall 2010. These pix are from the Stone website, but I'll get some of my own shortly.
His other side.
The new Arab yearling is my latest weakness. This one is Magnolia, a bay tobiano part-Arab from a 150 piece edition made in 2008. Half were matte and half were glossy, and this of course is one of the glossy pieces.
This one is Sunflower, a glossy palomino from another 150 piece edition made in 2008.
This is Xerxes, another glossy yearling, also from a run of 150 pieces in 2008.
This is Royal Dalton, yet another 2008 run of 150, and a glossy, naturally. She is actually Wedgewood in color, but Breyer may have copyrighted the name/color (in terms of model horses), hence naming this filly after a company that rivaled the real Wedgwood company. (Notice that Breyer and Stone intentionally mispelled Wedgwood (no "e") and Royal Doulton.)
This is San Dimas, a glossy golden bay yearling from a run of 100 pieces in 2008.
This is customized Arab Yearling from a run of 6 made for the 2009 Warehouse Sale. She has turned head, customized mane, twitched ears, and a swishy tail.
This is Star,a grulla tobiano weanling SR for RMR 2010.
This is Sassy, the 2001 Stone Country Fair SR. This pony is treasured by me because trading CM work for her introduced me to my best friend. :-)
This is a OOAK custom Pebbles Arab ordered as part of the 2009 You Call It custom promotion.
This is Vassar, a pretty glossy fleabit grey Pebbles Arab mare from the 2009 Stone Horse Collection.
This is a OOAK custom Pebbles Arab ordered as part of the 2009 You Call It custom promotion.
This is Boots, an eBay SR of only 15 pieces done in September 2010.
This is "Remember Me," a 2006 SR for attendees of the March 2006 Stone-sponsored live show in Chicago that turned out to not be a NAN-qualifier. I hardly ever get to NAN anyway, so I was quite pleased to have this little horse instead. I call him Snafu, heehee.
